Roberts Par’s First Playoff Hole for Victory

Todd Roberts is a bit of a legend around certain circles in Las Vegas. Friends with Rickie Fowler and Butch Harmon, he bumps elbows with some of golf’s royalty. Robert’s now joins them with a victory at the Nye County Team Championship.

Well, maybe not, but him and partner Kenny Ebalo won in a playoff for victory as a warm up for the USGA Four-Ball Qualifier on Monday at Mountain Falls Golf Club.

Roberts and Ebalo beat former SNGA Boatwright Intern Josh Goldstein and partner Sean O’Donnell in a sudden death playoff for the win. The Championship Division was the largest in the field with 8 teams competing for the best team of the year.

In the Net Division, reigning SNGA Net Player of the Year Rob Zoine joined forces with ‘Steady Eddie’ White to hold off the team of Tim Dugan and Ian Zuniga to bring home the coveted championship trophy back to Las Vegas.  With the victory, Zoine stamps his invitation as the 2015 SNGA Net Player of the Year.

Gary Carpendale and Cyrus Whitney once again proved why they are feared on the SNGA circuit. The tandem came from two back to fire a second round 68 to win the Senior Scratch Division.  John Garrett and Brian McShane did everything they could to hold them off, but an even par 72 proved to not be enough.  Garrett and McShane did not leave empty handed winning the Senior Net division with an impressive -8 tournament.

Fresh off vacation, Frank Abbott showcased the legendary golf game that is the class of Southern Nevada.  Abbott teamed up with Bruce Belcoure, a man that has an unbelievable golf game in his own right, to win the Super Senior division by an incredible 28 shots.   With Abbott and Belcoure running away with the gross division, Stephen Sitar and Mike Hoffman turned their attention to the Net.  The pair took home top honors shooting a 2-day; -7 net.
