Shane Sigsbee wins battle with Andrew Chu for the 2015 Pacific Links Amateur Title

Shane Sigsbee is coming off a 4th place finish at the Nevada State Amateur. He had a chance to win, but faltered down the stretch. This did not happen at the Pacific Links Amateur this week.

Sigsbee outlasted Andrew Chu, a talented incoming freshman at Dixie State University, to win the inaugural Pacific Links Amateur at all three Pacific Links Properties. Sigsbee shot a three day total of 214 to top Chu by one shot.

South Shore Golf Club, Southern Highlands Golf Club, and Dragonridge Country Club was the setting of one of the premier events on the 2015 SNGA Calendar.

Rounding out the Top 5 for the Scratch Division was Darrell Lutey in third with a 224, Frank Frisbee in fourth with a 230 and Ryan Bolton in fifth with a 235.

In the Senior Division, 2016 Las Vegas Golf Hall of Fame inductee Douglas Pool win his first SNGA Championship in years. Pool, a legend around Las Vegas in the golf industry, picked apart the Pacific Links Properties to win by seven strokes over Cyrus Whitney with a three day total of 219. Whitney, who had a chance coming down the back nine, but a double bogey 7 on Hole 12 ended any hope catching Mr. Pool. Frank Acker and Gary Carpendale finished in third with a total of 228

In the Senior Net Division, George Yocum ran away with the championship with a three day total of 211. Bryan Anderson, a SNGA newcomer, finished in second with a total of 216

Frank Abbott tried everything to catch Gerald Kring from seven strokes back, but Kring proved to be too strong at his home courses. Kring, a member of the Pacific Links Properties, played solid, consistent golf over three days for a 232 total to top Abbott by 1. Abbott is the 2014 Super Senior Player of the Year and leading points race player for 2016.

The Super Senior Net Championship went to Ilia Lozev, who survived a number of players that had a chance for the victory. David Clement finished in second, while Julie Sena ended up in third with a 223 net total.

The Net Division was won by the Dan Rinaldi with a three day total of 216 net. Working hard on his game over the past 2 years, Rinaldi finally finished off a tournament and what a event to win! Rob Zoine, the two time Net Player of the Year, finished in second with a total of 218 net. Third place went to Kenneth Paul, who continues to hang in tough with the best Net players in the state.
