“I am honored that Ann and the SNGA board have the trust in me to promote me to this new position,” Brand says. “It comes with a lot more responsibilities and I am looking forward to the challenge that comes along with that. Over the past couple of years, I have been getting more and more involved in certain aspects that come along with working at an Allied Golf Association such as course rating and handicapping. I look forward to continuing with my duties of organizing and running tournaments and the Rules of Golf, but also expanding my knowledge of how the association operates on a greater and more in-depth level.”

SNGA president Kenny Ebalo, executive director Ann Sunstrum and the board of directors have been impressed with Brand’s dedication and expertise.

“Ever since Tim joined the SNGA, he has continued to increase his skill set and evolve as a director, not just for tournaments, but for all aspects of our business,” Ebalo says. “He has become an expert in several Allied Golf Association requirements, Rules, Course Ratings, and strives to pass this knowledge along to our staff as it and golf continues to grow. I believe with this promotion, he will take on all of the challenges presented and help create some new strategies.”

Brand, who previously served as the director of rules and competition, has a clear mission in mind when it comes to his expanded role.

“My goals are pretty simple: I want to learn everything there is to learn about successfully running and operating an Allied Golf Association,” Brand says. “I want to continue to work with our very experienced and knowledgeable collection of staff members, rules officials, and board members. And I want to continue to foster and grow our (the SNGA) relationships with other stakeholders such as the Nevada Golf Alliance, the local Southern Nevada PGA Chapter, and golf course operators in Southern Nevada.”

Sunstrum looks forward to Brand continuing to help drive the SNGA to new heights.

“We are all so proud of TIm and this is a terrific moment for him and our entire organization,” Sunstrum says. “He does so much for the players, staff and volunteers, and we look forward to his continued contributions well into the future.”

Brand considers it to be a privilege to serve in his role.

“I really just enjoy the ability this job affords me to help grow the game of golf,” Brand says. “I have been in the golf industry in one form or another for the last 16 years. I have also been an avid golfer for the last 25 years. When I first started working in the golf industry it was doing very well. Then for a rather long period of time, the industry started to decline for various reasons. It has been so great to see golf come back, maybe stronger than ever over the last two years or so. I consider myself lucky to be in a position to help grow the game of golf at the amateur level. What we do here at the SNGA to help grow the game of golf has tangible benefits that can be seen and quantified all over Southern Nevada. I am proud of that. Not only for myself, but for everyone out there making the industry better and stronger.”
