SNGA Organizes Regional Qualifiers for United States Golf Association

The Southern Nevada Golf Association serves golfers in Southern Nevada on a daily basis. One of the most important things we do here at the SNGA is organize and operate several regional qualifiers for the United States Golf Association. We are the official arm of the USGA in Southern Nevada, and take our role in helping to determine several national championships very seriously.

Our regional qualifiers are professionally organized by our staff plus a highly-qualified group of rules officials who spend countless hours each year in training. They, along with our trained staff, oversee all of our competitive events and place a keen focus on the USGA qualifiers. The rules officials oversee our tournaments and qualifiers, and offer a national-quality rules environment for our competitors.

The following are the adult USGA qualifiers that we organize on an annual basis. For specific information about dates and courses for this calendar year, please visit our official tournament schedule section in the pages of this website.

  • US Open qualifier
  • US Amateur qualifier
  • US Mid-Amateur qualifier
  • US Senior Amateur qualifier
  • US four-ball qualifier

On a national and international level, the USGA conducts the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open and U.S. Senior Open, as well as 10 national amateur championships, two state team championships and international matches. Together with The R&A, the USGA governs the game worldwide, jointly administering the Rules of Golf, Rules of Amateur Status, Equipment Standards and World Amateur Golf Rankings. The USGA’s working jurisdiction comprises the United States, its territories and Mexico.

The USGA is a global leader in the development and support of sustainable golf course management practices. It serves as a primary steward for the game’s history and funds an ongoing “For the Good of the Game” charitable giving program. Additionally, the USGA’s Course Rating and Handicap systems are used on six continents in more than 50 countries.

The SNGA is proud to do our part in helping to make all of the above possible on a local and regional level. All major USGA events start with a local and/or regional qualifier.
