“It’s a great opportunity to host the Women’s State Senior Amateur, and the first thing that comes to mind is the hope that we can provide a fun, fair challenge for the players, plus how lucky we are for the opportunity to highlight women golfers,” says Elliott Owens, Mountain Falls director of golf. “Mountain Falls is perfect for this event not only because the course will challenge the better players while still being enjoyable for others, but the rest of our facilities are underutilized and will be appreciated by all the players.”

The 2022 Nevada State Senior Amateur was played at Dayton Valley Country Club and Ruth Maxwell won her second-straight gross division title. Also earning a victory in the net division was Katy Rosane. Check out the other winners and the recap video here.

Mountain Falls Golf Club is co-designed by the Nicklaus Design Group and Cal Olson Design. Owens has a deep appreciation for the course since he is a native of the area.

“I am born and raised here in Pahrump and grew up playing this golf course, and I always think of Mountain Falls as a desert course that feels like an alpine course,” Owens says. “It’s a much different experience than 90 percent of the courses in Vegas that are strictly desert courses. We also take pride in the consistency of the conditions at Mountain Falls. Mark Cannedy, our superintendent, does a wonderful job keeping the playing conditions at a prestigious level year round.”
