North Takes Home Top Honors at 2024 Nevada State Senior While South Travels Well
At Red Hawk Golf Club in Sparks, Nevada, Steve Sear and Jeff Duncan earned titles in the 2024 Nevada State Senior Amateur. Both represent the Northern Nevada Golf Association.
The SNGA’s top finishers were Brigham Gibbs out of Las Vegas National in third in the senior division, and John Steele from The Las Vegas Country Club in the Silver division, who finished second. Todd Roberts from Southern Highlands was T4 in the senior division while John Turk from Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort was third in the Silver.
For Duncan, it marked his third-straight Silver title in the prestigious event and he hopes his Northern counterparts step up and play more while recognizing how well players from the South traveled to support the event.
“Winning was a wonderful surprise,” he said. “The Southern Nevada group driving and flying up here to play was great. It really shows their enthusiasm to play golf. I hope Northern Nevada shows that kind of enthusiasm going forward.”
