PGA Tour’s Hottest, Longest Golfer Highlight Shriners Open Field

It’s that time of the year again: the PGA Tour comes to Vegas to showcase the world’s best golfers during the Shriners Children’s Open which will be held Oct. 4-10, 2021, at TPC Summerlin. That’s the good news. The better news is if you’re an SNGA member you can save 15 percent on tickets. –by Bill Bowman, Las Vegas Golf Insider staff

The tournament, which first came to Las Vegas in 1983, is a must-play for many of the top pros. Guys like Tiger Woods, Greg Norman, Jim Furyk (three times) and many others have put a victory here on their resume.

This year, the past four champions, Martin Laird (2020), hometown favorite Kevin Na (2019), Bryson DeChambeau (2018) and Patrick Cantlay (2017), are expected to highlight a stellar field.

With a purse of $7 million up for grabs as well as 500 FedEx Cup points and the event being held in Vegas…well, it’s no wonder the pros flock to this event.

The 2021 version won’t be any different. The tournament promises to have a lineup that is star-studded and ready to go birdie hunting.

Start off with the early commitment from the hottest golfer in the world in Cantlay (the BMW Championship winner and the Tour Championship winner) along with the longest hitter in the world,  DeChambeau, and you’ve got a solid 1-2 punch. Before the signup deadline, there will be a host of players ranked in the top 50 in the world filling up the leaderboard.

While SNGA members can save 15 percent off ticket prices, there’s more good news as those fans 18-and-under get into the tournament for free when accompanied by an adult.

Mark the dates down and make plans to enjoy the weather, the course and watching the top players battle it out.

And don’t forget the tournament features The Hill which is an ideal spot to watch the action on holes 16, 17 and 18 as well as keep track of all the college and pro football games under the tent on multiple televisions.

Add in a wide variety of dining options around the course and it’s a solid way to spend a day or two.
