Reflection Bay Golf Club Ups the Ante of Vegas Golf

It was a major bummer for the Las Vegas Golf Region—and, truth be told, golfers everywhere—when Reflection Bay Golf Club closed its doors a few years ago due the recession and other factors. What? A Top 100 golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, closed, just like that?
In the modern vernacular … Really!? But 2014 brought word that the glorious course, with five holes dancing on the shorelines of the private Lake Las Vegas, was burgeoning back to life.
So in 2015 the course is back in action and many say that playing it is just like it was when it hosted the Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge (which it did for several years), or as it was when the Golden Bear himself fired a one-under par, 71, on the course during the official opening festivities more than a decade ago.One nice new addition to Reflection Bay, at least as far as members of the Southern Nevada Golf Association are concerned, is that the course continually offers a friendly local rate. The rate ranges from $50-100 depending on time of year and day of week, but golfers who live here are urged to call and check with the course for the latest rates.Since opening in 1998, and before the hiatus, the course was awarded many different accolades including:

– America’s Top 75 Golf Destinations by Golf Medalist

– Top 100 by GOLF Magazine,

– America’s Top 100 golf communities by Travel and Leisure

– Best new upscale course by Golf Digest

– Best overall experience by VegasGolfer Magazine

And now golfers take to the internet to express the quality of Reflection Bay GC 2.0.
The official Nicklaus design for Reflection Bay Golf Club is, “Crafted along the northern shore of the lake, every contour of this imaginative course is a rare reflection of the mind of a master. Five holes stretch along a mile and a half of peaceful shoreline, with emerald greens embracing the hillside property of the luxurious Loews Resort. Measuring 7,184-yards, Jack has designed each of the par-72 golf course’s holes to be distinctive and memorable, including five holes stretching along a mile and a half of shoreline and the 200-yard, par-3 eighth which showcases a peninsula jutting out into Lake Las Vegas.”Distinctive and memorable. Two pretty good ways to describe Reflection Bay Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas.
