Nancy Lauback, co-coordinator of the WSNGA Team Play, said the challenge to earn a spot in the championship matchups is ramping up.

“The points are pretty close,” she said. “Anything can happen down the stretch and there are a lot of teams within striking distance. It’s going to be an exciting finish.”

The teams are looking to be one of six in the championship finale which will be held May 29, 2025, at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort’s Wolf Course. The top team in each division (Overall, Gross and Net) from the Blue and Red divisions will square off to decide the three champions.

Lauback added the teams know the pressure to perform their best is here.

“Depending on how the final matches of the regular season play out, the standings can change quickly,” she said. “Even a half-point in a match can make the difference of a team going into the playoffs or not.”

Lauback said the message to the teams from the captains is simple: “Just keep banging it out and get all the points you can,” she said with a laugh.

And Lauback added it’s time to fine-tune every team’s approach to each match.

“With the early matches, captains had the chance to work on lineups they thought would give them the best chances to win,” she said. “Now, with the season winding down, captains look at the other teams they are playing and the course they are playing and putting out the best lineup they can to get as many points as possible. It’s a lot of strategizing and now is the time to play your best.”

Blue Division After Round 8

Overall: 1. DragonRidge, 2. Business Women

Gross: 1. DragonRidge, 2. Business Women

Net: 1. DragonRidge, 2. Oasis

Red Division After Round 8

Overall: 1. Chimera Black, 2. BC Rock Steady

Gross: 1. BC Rock Steady, 2. Chimera Black

Net: 1. Conestoga, 2. Mountain Falls

Note: Teams can only qualify for one division title in the playoffs. If a team is leading more than one division, the second-place team will qualify for the playoffs. With DragonRidge leading all three Blue races, they would qualify for the Overall while the second place team in the Gross and Net would each move up and qualify for the finale.
