Sue’s Rules On Location at the World Team Amateur in Singapore
In her travels as a United State Golf Association rules official, Las Vegas Golf Hall of Famer Sue May has been all over the world. This rendition of “Sue’s Rules” culminates from Singapore where she was on location for the World Team Amateur Championship.
Question: Several players have questioned whether they can take their 2 club lengths from a Red Penalty Area and drop on the cart path.
Sue’s Ruling: The answer is, if your 2 club lengths put you on the cart path you may drop on it.
Question: If there is a dropping zone on a hole for a penalty area do I have to use it?
Sue’s Ruling: If the Local Rule Sheet doesn’t say the dropping zone is mandatory, you don’t have to use it. The majority of dropping zones are optional.
