Matt Mitchell birdied three of his first four holes in the final round en route to a five-shot victory in the Championship Division.
It was Mitchell’s fifth win in 2025–four individual titles and a team crown. It was Mitchell’s second major.
Mitchell, who played baseball at UNLV, is currently working in the gaming industry.
“It was a great field,” he said. “I knew that after yesterday when I played well and wasn’t in the lead.”
Mitchell trailed Brady Exber by a shot after the first round and that put him in the same group with Exber in the finale.
“It’s the first time I’ve played with Mr. Exber and it was an honor,” he said. “He’s such a nice guy and we had a great time.”
Mitchell birdied the first two holes both days and said the start was key to his success.
“It’s a little more scoreable stretch of the course,” he said. “And I made a couple of putts both days which is always good. It helps to mentally get focused when you get off to a good start.”
He said it was good to have success at Boulder Creek…finally.
“I’ve never really played that well at Boulder Creek so it’s good to have two good rounds there,” he said. “I really like the course and love the challenge of it but I always seem to make some mistakes. This weekend I didn’t.”

Thomas Coolidge had back-to-back net birdies early in the final round as well as late in the round and rallied to win the Net title by two strokes.
Coolidge, who had the birdies on the fourth and fifth holes as well as the 15th and 16th holes, made his first SNGA victory a major.
“I’ve only played in two tournaments this year and I came in second and then first so that’s great,” Coolidge said.
He said his game is on the rise for a simple reason: coaching.
“I have a coach now,” Coolidge said of his work with Fred Dooley. “He’s retired and just does it for fun. I met him two years ago. I hadn’t played golf in about 20 years and it was good timing. I got back into golf and got a coach at the same time.”
The duo is hard at work on Coolidge’s game.
“I’ve made a lot of improvements,” he said. “But there’s always something to work on. It’s also making sure you can take what you work on to the course.”
He said this victory came down to his work on the greens.
“It always comes down to putting,” he said. “Making the three-and-five footers is the key. You never want to make bogeys and those putts can do a lot to help save a round.”
He said it wasn’t smooth sailing but those net birdies made all the difference.
“Those made things go a lot smoother,” he said. “The first round I missed a ton of easy putts but this round I made those putts and they helped me stay locked in and focused.”
He said winning a major is a definite bright spot.
“This was a really good field,” he said. “To be able to win is pretty cool. Hopefully I can keep it going.”

NOTE: Dave Golder recorded an ace on the par-3 third hole in the final round.
“It was 169 yards and I choked up on a seven-wood,” he said. “They all thought it went in but I thought it was short. We got up there and, sure enough, it went in.”
It was his fourth ace. “The first one was ugly…I skulled it and it went in,” he said with a laugh. “But the last three have all been good shots.”
