Hidden Jewel Desert Willow Golf Club Is Open to All
Desert Willow Golf Club is one of Las Vegas golf’s hidden gems. The par 60 executive course designed by Greg Nash and Billy Casper is tucked in the shadows of the McCullough black mountains above Green Valley, and offers a true golf experience with 12 tasty par 3 holes and six decent length par 4s. Overall, Desert Willow makes for a sweet and affordable three-hour round of golf that challenges and improves the short game while providing enough length to keep things real.

Despite being located within the age-restricted living community of MacDonald Ranch, the perception that the course is only accessible for those residents is false. Desert Willow is open to all golfers. In fact, the course and dedicated staff go above and beyond to open up the course to all comers young and old.“We’re Henderson’s little gem, and we want everyone to know that,” says Director of Golf Doug Sipe. “A lot of people don’t realize the quality and the uniqueness of this course. Most people think about an executive course as just being a lot of short, non-descript holes, but here we feature scenic vistas of the entire valley, water holes, and some of best greens in the valley. And for some reason a lot of people don’t know we’re open to the public, but we’re open to all and welcome everyone. There are so many advantages of playing an executive course. It takes less time. The cost is less. You can walk. You can come out and play nine holes here anytime. We’re also a very popular course to play for couples and ladies because the length isn’t intimidating. Plus we have always been very supportive of junior golf. Our partnership with Pam Bowers continues to grow and we have even lowered the age for kids to become involved to five years old.”
Bowers, a top 50 U.S. Kids Golf Instructor, and her husband, Dale, have created junior instructional
programs for both individuals and groups from beginner to advanced juniors. For all details, visit

In addition to Bowers program, the course is now a host site of the new Las Vegas Junior Golf Association Summer Series of tournaments. The series helps beginning players become involved in the game and get comfortable in a tournament setting.
So, remember, Desert Willow is open to all golfers. And it will probably exceed your expectations.
