There are many country club options in Las Vegas. When golfers go on the hunt for one to join there are many questions that need to be answered. Is it a good group? Is there variety on the golf course? And, maybe the top question: Will I feel welcome? Well, Soyoung Crabb, president of the Red Rock Country Club Women’s Golf Association, has the easy answer: Absolutely. –Bill Bowman, Las Vegas Golf Insider staff

Crabb has been the women’s club president since 2021 and has been a member since 2018.

“I’m not a longtime member but I’m happy to be leading this group,” she said of the 80 members. “This is a great group and they are all here to have fun, play golf and make new friends.”

The women’s group plays each Thursday and Crabb said variety is the name of the game.

“We have a lot of different games on the schedule, which comes out each year,” she said. “A lot of time it is team play with ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ players but we also have individual games. The fun part is that after the round we get to have a luncheon together and socialize.”

And, that socialization is very important to the group.

“If we have new people, it makes showing them the ropes easier,” Crabb said. “We can all share information that can make our lives a little bit easier. It’s not always about the golf. It’s making sure we can help anyone with anything that may come up.”

But there is golf–and plenty of it–at Red Rock Country Club.

Crabb said the golf staff is a big reason for the group’s success.

“We play on Thursdays but the staff has also given us some tee times on Tuesdays so we can show new players the ropes,” she said. “They also always listen to any problems we may have and really make us feel part of the Red Rock family.”

Crabb said she has found the RRCCWGA is a group women golfers should check out.

“We are a group that know how to have fun,” she said. “It’s about golf, friendships and fun.”

To that end, Crabb said the fun happens on and off the golf course.

“We have member-member events, member-guest events and others where we dress up in theme events and just have fun,” she said.
