Six Golf Duos Win 2025 Team Titles at CasaBlanca In Mesquite
The teams of Greg Horodesky-Nick Horodesky (Championship), John Turk-Rick Sepp (Senior) and John Steele-David Foggia (Silver) won gross titles in the 2025 SNGA Team Championship. Chris Price-Brett Crabtree (Net), John Bobroski-Gordon Schiring (Senior) and Walter Sabati-Anthony Becker (Silver) won net titles in the tournament held Oct. 11-12, 2025, at CasaBlanca Golf Club in Mesquite.–by Bill Bowman, Las Vegas Golf Insider
The two-man event featured two formats with teams playing an alternate shot first round and a best-ball format for the final round.

The Horodesky team–dad Greg and son Nick–fired an opening round of 62 in the alternate shot format and cruised to a four-stroke victory.
The twosome’s first round included a seven-hole stretch where they were seven-under-par with five birdies, an eagle and a par. It was Greg Horodesky’s third win of 2025 (one individual title and two team wins) while it was Nick Horodesky’s first SNGA victory.
“We had each other’s back both days,” Nick Horodesky said. “If he had a bad hole, I had a good hole.”
Nick said everything worked well the first day.
“We had that really good stretch and both played well all day,” he said.
He added the final round only saw one hiccup.
“We had one hole where we both made bogey,” Nick said. “But we came back with two birdies. Dad wasn’t too happy about it but I told him to just keep hitting good shots. I made two birdies and then I slowed down and he picked us up over the last five holes. It was classic ham-and-egg.”
Nick added while the duo plays a lot of golf together, this win is one he won’t soon forget.
“I’ve come close to winning a couple of times but getting my first win with dad is pretty special,” he said.

Chris Price had an eagle in both rounds, one natural and one net, in teaming up with Brett Crabtree to win the Net title.
The duo was four shots behind the leaders after the first round.
It was Price’s second win of 2025 while Crabtree won for the first time in SNGA play.
Just playing in the tournament was tough for Price.
“I lost my mom on Wednesday and I didn’t know if I was even going to play,” he said. “But I said…you know, what…my mom brought me into this world playing golf and it’s only fitting to play in her honor. To pull off a win was amazing.”
Price said Crabtree’s play was also a key.
“To have that guy hit it like he did over the last two days gives you the confidence to go out and hit good shots,” Price said. “If I hit a bad shot, he’s right there to pick me up. We’ve played in this a couple of times and we both said this one had to be the one.”
In the end, Price said it was tough to keep it together.
“After the last shot, holding off the emotions was tough,” he said. “Mom was definitely watching over us this weekend. There was certainly extra motivation for us to play well and to have a good friend like Brett right there with me…you couldn’t have written a better script.”

Senior
John Turk and Rick Sepp opened the final round playing the first three holes in three-under-par and went on to win the Senior crown by four strokes.
It was Turk’s second win of the year while Sepp has now won four times.
“It was awesome,” Sepp said. “We played both days with Todd Roberts and Brady Exber. After the first day we were ahead of them by two and we got off to a hot start (Sunday) and shot 32 to their 34 on the front. We were just trying to play solid golf and did just that.”
Sepp said the hot start gave them a little cushion to work with.
“John eagled No. 2 and I birdied No. 3 so that definitely gave us a lot of confidence,” he said. “After that we just played steady and worked off each other well.”
He added the format fit their game in the finale.
“If one of us was out of the hole, the other one finished it out,” Sepp said. “We never got in a whole lot of trouble so that was a key. It was a great win for us.”

Gordon Schiring birdied two straight holes on the front side of the final round and John Bobroski added three straight birdies on the back nine to help the duo win the Senior Net title.
“It was a team win,” Bobroski said. “That’s the thing about a team event…it doesn’t matter how many holes you score on, just that one of you plays well.”
Bobroski added playing with Schiring worked out well.
“We have a good time and keep each other relaxed,” he said. “We’re just out there to hit good shots and have fun. We just build confidence in each other. That’s what it’s all about. You just want to contribute as much as you can.”
In the end, Bobroski said it’s all about timing.
“You just have to be in it one shot at a time,” he said. “With the two formats, it’s two of you and you’ve both just got to play as well as you can and rely on your partner to pick you up if needed.”

Silver
John Steele and David Foggia had an impressive eight-hole stretch during the first round that helped them post a win in the Silver Division.
The duo went par-birdie, par-birdie, par-birdie, par-birdie to open up a two-shot lead after the first round en route to a five-shot victory.
“This was pretty cool,” Steele said. “We made so many putts it was crazy. We probably made 120 feet of putts.”
Steele added their game-plan for putting worked perfectly.
“We knew the greens were slow,” he said. “Dave said let’s make sure we hit every putt a foot past the hole. That was an incredibly good thought to have. It took a lot of the bumps out and a lot of the break out. It turned out to be an absolute home run of an idea yesterday.”
Overall, Steele said the duo paired up perfectly.
“Dave is a great partner,” Steele said. “He thinks things through and reads greens very well. And he’s fun to play with. That all adds up to a great time.”

Silver Net
Walter Sabati and Anthony Becker posted four birdies (three net and one natural) in the first six holes of the final round to rally and win the Silver Net title.
The duo previously won an SNGA Tour team title five years ago but have both been battling injuries.
“It’s been awhile for us winning,” Sabati said with a laugh. “Tony’s had two knee replacements and a shoulder injury and I’ve had back issues for several years. But, hopefully we’re back.”
Sabati added the team relied on each other…a lot.
“We played pretty steady but we did have a couple of blowup holes,” he said. “But for the most part we played pretty consistent and made some putts. And it’s the best I’ve seen Tony hit the ball in a long time. Our confidence is up there.”
He said there was a little bit of concern at the end of the second day.
“Down the stretch we didn’t fold and that’s a good thing,” Sabati said. “Tony was holding me up at the end and then I started playing a little better, too. We held it together. It was just a grind and with that tough competition it was tough to beat those guys.”
