Six teams have earned the right to play for titles in the 2024 WSNGA Team Play series. BC Rock Steady will play Business Women in the Overall finale. DragonRidge will meet Chimera Silver for the Gross crown and Red Rock will take on Conestoga for the Net title. There were 20 teams split into Blue and Red divisions in the 2024 edition. The teams played events at 18 of Vegas’ finest courses for a shot at one of the three crowns.
It’s down to the final six.
“It’s been a wonderful season,” said Nancy Lauback, team play coordinator. “Everyone had a great season and as far as I know everyone is coming back next year. And we’ve grown it well. We have great participation and we’ve got teams from Boulder City, Pahrump and Mesquite so it’s a big draw and it’s great competition.”
Now it’s on to the championship matches.
“Anything can happen now,” Lauback said. “These matchups will be great ones.”
And a few of the title matchups came down to the final week of play on Monday.
“Yesterday’s matches were key to making the playoffs,” Lauback added. “The Business Women made a move to secure the top spot in the Overall race in the Red Division. It really came down to the last match…points were that tight.”
The Overall finale, in which teams count both gross and net strokes, features an all-too-familiar matchup: BC Rock Steady (Blue) vs. Business Women (Red).
“This will be a great head-to-head matchup,” Lauback said. “It’s the fourth straight year they will meet in the Overall match. The Business Women won the first two and BC Rock Steady won last year so they will be looking to repeat.”
In the end, Lauback said the teams better bring their best game if they are going to be crowned 2024 champions.
“The captains will now strategize and put their best players out there,” she said. “They know their opponent and their strengths. They will try to match up the best they can and we’ll see who comes out on top.”
