LAS VEGAS, NV (March 19, 2025)–As the WSNGA Team Play Series nears its midway point, teams are fine-tuning their play as they gear up for the stretch run. Nancy Lauback, co-coordinator of the WSNGA Team Play, said the races in the Blue and Red Divisions are heating up.–by Bill Bowman, Las Vegas Golf Insider staff
“The points are very close in a lot of the categories (Overall, Gross and Net) in both divisions and with five matches remaining, it’s getting exciting,” Lauback said.
And with the halfway point to the 2025 season coming up, it’s time for teams to up their play to try and get into the playoff picture.
“It’s going to be interesting to see how the next five matches play out,” Lauback said. “There’s still time for the Blue and Red teams to make moves.”
In each match, a total of 24 points are available (12 gross and 12 net). Lauback said the points totals–no matter how small–make a difference.
“In years past, even a half-point has made a difference in a team going to the playoffs,” she said. “That’s why, for the remainder of the season, every team wants to get as many points as possible.”
And that 24 points has happened…and it happened this season.
“The Business Women did get 24 points earlier this year so it can be done,” Lauback said. “And with that many points, moves can be made if teams find the right lineup combination.”
In the end, Lauback said it’s been nothing but positives for the first part of the season.
“Everyone’s having a great time and it’s nice to see the competition be that tight,” she said. “It should be a great finish.”
