Nancy Lauback, co-coordinator of the WSNGA Team Play, said the 2025 season was one to remember.

“The 2025 Team Play proved with more teams, 21, that the competition just got tougher,” she said. “The season total points for Gross, Net and Overall tallied up to some very close ‘making it or breaking it’ moments to reach the playoffs. A few teams missed making it to the playoffs by a few points…or less.”

Overall—Business Women vs. BC Rock Steady

Business Women breezed past BC Rock Steady, 19.5-4.5, to win the Overall crown.

It was Business Women’s fourth Overall title in the last five seasons and second in a row.

The Overall title was decided using both gross and net scores.

“I can’t tell you how special these ladies are,” said Christine Soscia, Business Women captain. “This year our team just all gelled. It’s like a sisterhood…everyone wants to play for the team.”

Business Women team members playing the finale were: Brittany Bronson, Jamie Kim, Chin Kim, Margaret Cashwell, Theresa Summers, Karen Huckabay, Nicole Nolan and Lisa Wiley.

Soscia added the Business Women players all have one thing in common–teamwork.

“We are all so compatible,” she said. “We all have no problem with anyone being put out to play a match. They all support each other and help each other.”

And it’s been that way for years.

“We had four rookies this year and they all drank the Kool-Aid and really fit in well,” Soscia said. “They listened and learned and played well. I’ve just got the best group of women.”

She’s also already looking forward to next year.

“I think the target on our back is getting bigger all the time,” Soscia said. “All the teams…we’re all friends but in the end, everyone wants to win.”

Gross—DragonRidge vs. Chimera Black

Sherry Jackson had a two-putt par on the first playoff hole to help DragonRidge repeat as the Gross champs.

That makes DragonRidge two-for-two in Gross titles in their two years of playing in the series.

DragonRidge team members playing in the finale included: Debbie Love, Sherry Jackson, Laura Guida, Cindy Kang, Nancy Dunn, Peggy Gore, Stephanie Raper and Sandy Barletta.

“We were trying for Overall but we missed out making it into that spot by eight points,” said DragonRidge captain Peggy Gore. “But we’re happy to win this again.”

She said while the Gross crown is nice, the ladies want more.

“We’ll be back next year,” Gore said. “We’re figuring it out. That eight points over the 10 matches isn’t that many. We have a lot of talent and we’re definitely getting better.”

Chimera Black won the first two head-to-head matches, posting 3-0 and 3-0 wins. That set the stage for DragonRidge to rally with its own 3-0 and 3-0 wins in the third and fourth matches to set up a playoff.

“Sherry hit her second shot onto the green and two-putted for par and they didn’t make a par,” Gore said. “Sherry was more than excited because they had lost their earlier match 3-0. Just goes to show that in a playoff, anything can happen.”

Net-Oasis vs. Mountain Falls

Mountain Falls (Pahrump) got into the winner’s circle for the first time in more than 25 years, beating Oasis (Mesquite), 8.5-3.5.

“I’m so proud of this team,” Mountain Falls captain Sue Theiler said. “One thing about this team is we felt like the Bad News Bears…we like to have fun.”

Theiler said the team’s goal was simple: “I would tell them if we’re having a good time and playing good golf you just might win,” she said. “Today we did just that.”

Mountain Falls team members in the finale included: Jacquelyn Dobbins, Julie Floyd, Sue Theiler, Charity Musial, Brenda Meinicke, Katey Talbot, Lisa Hamrick and Anne Wagner.

Theiler added the team came into the season without high expectations.

“Honestly we just didn’t want to not get any points,” she said with a laugh. “We didn’t care how many but we wanted some points.”

But then the season got under way.

“At the beginning of the season we were right up there in the standings,” Theiler said. “And we just kept being upbeat and they just kept playing well and here we are.”

Theiler said the victory is definitely a club effort.

“We don’t have a ton of members at the club,” she said. “People filled in all during the year to help us out. Sometimes it was hard fielding a team. But in the end everyone played well at the right times.”
