Statistics, Results Back Up 2020 Players of Year Accolades
Congrats to each of the six SNGA Players of the Year. This is how they eached earned the prestigious award. The 2020 Players of the Year all have one thing in common: Consistency. A few of them achieved consistency from posting multiple victories, while others may have won just once. Championship
Kenny Ebalo was definitely the class of the field when it came to the Championship Division.
He posted three victories and accumulated 1,219 points in winning the honors by 527 points.
Ebalo, who was just re-elected as the president of the SNGA, said it was nice to get back into action in SNGA events.
“Last year was kind of weird,” he said. “A lot of the events I would travel to got cancelled so I had more time to play locally. It was nice to get into a rhythm and play a solid tournament schedule.”
He was in the top four in 11 of his 12 starts in SNGA events. Add to that a win at the 2020 Nevada State Amateur and a runnerup in the 2020 Nevada State Match Play event and it’s no wonder he ran away with the crown.
Ebalo also was Player of the Year in 2014 and was 12th in the 2019 final Player of the Year standings.

Trevor Coss’ victory in the Nevada State Amateur highlighted his year as he picked up 375 points for the win. He also added two more wins (the Cascata Amateur and the SNGA Tour-Bear’s Best) in racking up 890.79 points for the year. He won the Player of the Year title by 334.79 points.
Overall, Coss had seven top-10s during the season.
Coss was 10th in the 2019 Player of the Year race.
Senior Gross
Kelly Knievel reeled off five wins in 15 events he participated in but still had to hold on for the Senior Gross Player of the Year honor.
Knievel wound up the year with 592.1 points, edging out Todd Roberts by 141 points.
Knievel finished in the top-10 of every event he took part in highlighted by the 250 points he picked up by winning the 2020 Clark County Senior Amateur.
Knievel was third in the 2019 Player of the Year final standings.
Senior Net
In the closest race for the Player of the Year, David Golder, with one victory, won the Senior Net honor by 15.5 points over Kelly Knievel.
Golder started off last year with a win in the 2020 Tournament of Champions event and kept adding points with 10 finishes in the top-10.
Golder finished fifth in the 2019 final standings.
Silver Gross
John Turk made the most of a limited playing schedule, winning six of the nine events he played. He won the Silver Gross title by 425 points over Frank Acker who had three victories.
Turk never finished lower than third in his events.
Turk was second in the 2019 final standings, but that finish was in the Senior Gross Division. He also had five wins in that season.
Silver Net
Dario Gonzales played his way into the Player of the Year crown without the benefit of a victory. He won the crown by 76.83 points over Tony Troilo.
Gonzales, who wound up with 678.33 points, had five top-10 finishes including a second in the 2020 Clark County Senior Amateur.
Gonzales was 15th in the 2019 Player of the Year race.
