SNGA Finishes 9th at Morse Cup event for the Pacific Coast Amateur
The SNGA team gave it their all at the 49th annual Pacific Coast Amateur Championship, but at the end of the day, youth trumped experience.
Eugene Country Club played host to the top 87 golfers on the West Coast over 4 days in Eugene, OR. The first two day were used as a team championship called the Morse Cup where you use 2 of the 3 scores on your team to make up a score.
Ed Fryatt, Kenny Ebalo and Ryan McCullough made up one of the best Morse Cup teams for Southern Nevada in recent years with experience and confidence on their side. The rest of the field was made up of college kids looking to make their mark on a big Amateur Championship before turning professional.
In the end, the college kids were just too tough as Northern California, made up of 3 of the best amateurs in the world ( Corey Pereira, Bryson DeChambeau & Maverick McNealy) won the Morse Cup Team Championship. The individual win went to Aaron Wise, a University of Oregon player who was right at home in Eugene Country Club where the Ducks play.
