All About Inclusion During U.S. Adaptive Tourney at Desert Pines
Emotions ran high and perseverance was everywhere recently at Desert Pines Golf Club for the U.S. Adaptive Golf Association International Championship for para-golfers. Golfers with a wide-range of impairment in several divisions used golf to compete against each other and also as a way to enjoy as normal of a life as possible.
The overall winner was Chad Pfeifer, an Iraq war veteran, but the stories of others overcoming their challenges through the game of golf were everywhere on the course, win or lose. Just being out there was a tremendous victory.
The following video details the inspirational event where Southern Nevada Golf Association officials provides rules oversight and a new Para-Golfer World Ranking System–sanctioned by the United States Golf Association–was utilized. Including interviews with champions and USAGA founder Edmund “E.Q.” Sylvester.
