Golfers teeing it up in the inaugural Eagle’s Landing Best of the Best First Responders charity event at Conestoga Golf Club in Mesquite will be helping a great cause. The tournament is scheduled for May 22 with proceeds benefiting the Mesquite First Responders charity.

Mark Yardley, Founder and CEO of the Eagle’s Landing corporation said that the company had decided earlier this year that local first responders, in all of the areas that the company serves. were due for some recognition.

“The past year has been a tough one for first responders all across the country,” Yardley said told the Nevada Progress last week. “We wanted to show our appreciation for all that they do for our communities.”

Eagle’s Landing operates travel plazas throughout the country and each has funds allocated to help the local areas.

“Our veterans fundraiser has become very successful, raising more than $50,000 a year to support the veterans in our communities,” Yardley said in the NV Progress article. “Now we plan to build up the first responders fundraisers in the next few years to at least match that. Hopefully we will even surpass it.”

To enter, contact Eagle’s Landing rep Kenny at 775-385-5925 or [email protected]. Strict rules will be followed with scorers on each hole. Official handicaps are required. Team entry fee is $2,500 and 40% of the proceeds go to the charity. There also will be a very large first-place prize for the winning team.
