Josh Crossen had three birdies in a six-hole stretch as he posted a two-stroke victory in the Championship Division.

“With my job, it’s a little easier to sneak out for the one-day tournaments,” said Crossen who is a financial planner. “I’m looking to play in quite a few SNGA Tour events and it’s certainly nice to get a victory.”

He said his start to the round was a little frustrating.

“I just couldn’t get it going on the front nine,” he said of his three-over-par score. “And I had a good up-and-down for a par on No. 9 or it would have been four-over.”

The up-and-down proved to be the turning point.

“That kicked it into gear for me,” he said. “After that, I started putting some circles on the card.”

He said putting was the key to the victory.

“The ol’ flatstick kept me in the game,” he added. “I putted very well. Usually driving the ball and putting are two of my strengths but today my putting worked overtime to support my driving.”

He added the competition of the SNGA is impressive.

“I love playing against the kids,” he said. “I’m 40 now and I just love the competition. It just helps make me better.”

John Bobroski balanced four birdies with four bogeys as his even-par round was good enough for a three-stroke victory.

It was Bobroski’s second win of 2025 after posting four wins in 2024.

His even-par round included two birdies and two bogeys on each nine.

“I’m playing good golf…I just want to keep it going,” Bobroski said. “It’s just practice, practice, practice. That’s what it takes. I practice about an hour after work on just chipping. You can miss the green and can get up and down if your short game is there.”

He added his mindset is in a good spot.

“I’m not making big numbers and that can be the difference,” he said. “Todd (Roberts) and I were tied going into 15 and he hit it over the green which is death. He wound up with a seven and I birdied the hole. I’m eliminating big numbers and that’s a good thing.”

He said playing has his spirits high.

“Right now, it’s a lot of fun playing,” he said. “I’m playing well and hope to keep it up.”

For David Foggia, winning the opening Silver Division title was as easy as 1-2-3.

Foggia birdied his first three holes and started off 2025 like he finished 2024, in the winner’s circle as he posted a three-shot victory. Foggia had eight wins in 2024.

For the round, Foggia had five birdies and a lone bogey.

“The last time I had three straight birdies was at last year’s Tournament of Champions and I went on to shoot 83,” he said with a laugh. “Today, I was calm and putted pretty well. It was much better.”

He said his opening two holes set the pace.

“I was just off the green on both of them and made them both,” he said. “Those were good confidence boosters.”

He added his putting definitely carried the round.

“I made a couple of long-range putts and a couple of 10-footers,” he said. “I did miss a two-footer for my only three-putt. But, you make a few, you miss a few.”

Dave Golder played the final four holes in five-under-par with a net eagle, two net birdies and a natural birdie in winning the Net Division by one stroke.

“I played great on the front side,” he said. “And I started off good on the back and then could not make a putt. I had 10 putts in three holes and fell way back.”

But then came the final four holes.

“I went birdie (natural), birdie (net eagle), par (net birdie) and par (net birdie),” he said. “I finally started putting well. Tee to green I did well all day.”

He said the victory wasn’t expected.

“It felt good to win because I’ve been playing absolutely terrible,” he said.
