For the second year in a row, 1994 Southern Nevada Golf Association Player of the Year Craig Barlow will take us behind the ropes of his 2024 U.S. Senior Open experience. He will be sending comments, photos from his journey.

The event is June 27-20 at Newport Country Club in Rhode Island. In 2023, Barlow shared his journey from qualifier to his tied for 14th finish that earned him a trip back to the U.S. Senior Open in 2024.

“I played 9 holes, starting on 10 today,” Barlow said. “The course is playing hard, but fair.  Wind blew around 20 mph, so into the wind was very difficult as the ball plays very heavy since we are at Sea level. The greens are very receptive because of rain in the last week, but are rolling fast. They are around 11.5 on the stimp meter. My game feels good. My swing thought is very simple and productive: BE GRACEFUL!!!!!  Tomorrow will be 18 with three good Friends, Mike Weir, Chris Riley and David Heinen.”

Follow along this week with Craig as he reports back regularly. Barlow is now Director of Instruction at the High Performance Golf Institute at Reflection Bay Golf Club.
