We had a great year in 2024. Our highlights include our Team Play program that saw 20 team compete for the Titles of Overall, Gross and Net Champions. Over 600 women played in one or more of the matches during the season!
But one of our favorites is that our Southern Silver Cup team won the event against the North for the second straight year. That is a first in 23 years for the South.
Our fun days and Championships were well attended and our fun days were, well just plain FUN!!!
In our second year of recognizing WSNGA Women of the Year performance, we were excited to announce the following winners:
NET Senior Player of the Year: Karen Bernard. Karen prevailed as the Net winner in the WSNGA Southern Nevada Amateur and placed for points in the Women’s State Amateur
NET Player of the Year: Cristy Esposo. Cristy’s performance in the Women’s State Amateur and Las Vegas City Amateur put her in the lead in this category.
Senior Player of the Year: Regina Quintero: Regina’s performance with 5 top 3 finishes and notable finishes in Southern Nevada Amateur and State Quad earned her this category by a significant margin.
Player of the Year: Ronda Henderson: For the second year running Ronda is our WSNGA Woman Player of the Year. With 5 first place finishes and her performance in USGA qualifying and making the cut for Match Play (round of 16) we couldn’t be prouder to have Ronda as our Player of the Year.
And our volunteer of the year was Sherry Jackson: Sherry’s willingness to take on a new role in 2024 while mentoring our new Tournament Director, being instrumental in the development and deployment of our POY awards , and representing us on the State Committee were critical to our success this year.
We celebrate all the ladies that played in our events. Many had personal bests. 20 players made the Silver Cup team as previously reported. We look forward to our 2025 season and seeing more players join in the fun!
