Nevada Open in Mesquite, Nev. to Include Pro-Am Tournament
The Nevada Open is to be played Nov. 9-12, 2015, in the golf destination of Mesquite, Nev. New in 2015 is the Pro-Am that offers amateur golfers a chance to play with the pros and help support Mesquite junior golf.
Mesquite, Nev.—Amateur golfers looking to travel to Mesquite, Nev. and play some wonderful golf now have the perfect opportunity. The prestigious and historic Nevada Open now includes a Pro-Am the day prior to the official tournament competition. The Pro-Am is $140 per player and will include a round of golf at Palms Golf Club, lunch, a special prize purse for Amateur and Pros. The Pro-Am is an exciting way to start the tournament, and will bring back a tradition of Nevada Open tournament week.
“We are absolutely thrilled to bring back the Nevada Open Pro-Am to this special week,” said Christian Adderson, Tournament Director. “For many years amateurs traveled from all over to play in the Pro-Am and we want to create a brand new annual tradition. We will have a wonderful day at The Palms and amateurs will enjoy playing with some of the top aspiring professionals in the country. We also will be raising money for Mesquite Junior Golf so the event is for a good cause and will be a special time for everyone.”

Following the Pro-Am, the official competition begins, and the largest purse in Nevada Open history is up for grabs. A total $125,000 (up from $105,000 in 2014) is available to professional golfers. The official competition is scheduled to be played November 10-12 at CasaBlanca Golf Club and Palms Golf Club.
Entry fee for non-affiliated professionals is $725. The fee for PGA of America golf professionals is $500 while Southern Nevada PGA of America professionals are offered a rate of $450. Amateurs are welcome to compete and the entry fee is $350. The entry fee includes accommodations for three nights at CasaBlanca Resort. The event is free to all spectators.
Among the champions of the Nevada Open throughout its history are Robert Gamez, Vic Wilk, Kevin Penner and Tom Lehman. Other notables who have played in the tournament include PGA TOUR players Craig Barlow, Boyd Summerhayes, Graham Delaet, Kevin Stadler, Tony Finau and Champions PGA TOUR player Jay Don Blake. The 2015 champion was Seann Harlington, a player on the Canadian PGA TOUR.
