New Owners Bring New Energy, Inventory, Renovation to LV Golf SuperStore

Las Vegas Golf and Tennis is, as they say, an “institution” within the Las Vegas golf community and have been serving golfers in Southern Nevada since 1976. They have also been a long term sponsor of the Southern Nevada Golf Association and involved in other charity tournaments. Recently, the Boreta family sold the company to Worldwide Golf, also a family owned operation, that owns and operates more than 80 stories nationally. Immediately the new owners invested substantially in a renovation, inventory and other ways.

The Las Vegas Golf SuperStore will be the home to thousands of new and certified pre-owned golf clubs, the 90-day guarantee and free club fittings, and the store has undergone a renovation with a new putting green, state-of-the-art swing areas and other additions. The store is located in the heart of Las Vegas at I-15 and Dean Martin with easy access to locals and visitors. Also, many of the same Las Vegas Golf and Tennis fitting experts have remained through the transition.

“When we have the opportunity, we like to acquire golf retailers that have a long history within the community and a strong customer base, and this was one of those cases,” said Rick Levy, Vice President of Marketing for Worldwide Golf Shops. “All of our brands have a lot of history, and the makeup of this store and the way they have operated really fits well with what we have done in all our locations for so many years. Golfers living in Las Vegas and those who are among the millions to visit the desert city every year have long had a great option when looking for golf equipment and apparel – and now their shopping experience will be even better.”

The store was founded in 1974 by the late Voss Boreta and was later run by his two sons. One of those sons, John Boreta, said he’s proud to see his father’s legacy continue on under the Worldwide Golf Shops umbrella. Other Worldwide stores include Roger Dunn, Golf Mart and Golfer’s Warehouse, among others.

“What they do best is customer service, and that has always been what we have done best as well,” Boreta explained. “Our employees love the business and are dedicated to the customers, many of whom they have gotten to know really well over the last 30 or more years.”

Levy said that he and his team are entering the Las Vegas market with a great foundation thanks to all the work Boreta and his family did, and they’ll make things even better by adding some of the elements that have proven successful at other Worldwide Golf Shops stores. It’s a philosophy they have implemented throughout the company’s history when acquiring brands such as Golfers’ Warehouse, Vans Golf Shops and others. “We’ll bring our unique emphasis on service into that store,” Levy said. “We’ll offer our 90-day satisfaction guarantee, which has been a big part of our brand for the last 35 years. We think that will resonate with golfers throughout the Las Vegas community.”
